About the Role

We are looking for a committed and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Royal Alexandra Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly specialised environment, caring for premature and critically ill babies and supporting their families during a challenging time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to neonates requiring intensive, high dependency, and special care.
  • Monitor and assess babies’ clinical condition, responding promptly to changes and escalating as appropriate.
  • Administer medications and treatments in line with local and national protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to care planning.
  • Support parents and families, providing education and emotional support.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of care.
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control measures and health and safety policies.
What We’re Looking For
  • Registered Nurse (Adult or Child) with current NMC registration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Previous neonatal experience is desirable, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Compassionate and reliable individual with excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
