Estimator BC

Lead and manage the estimating team, overseeing budgets and bid estimates

Coordinate resources, software, and personnel to ensure accurate and timely estimating

Work with management to maintain departmental standards for bid packages, deliverable formats, and budget tracking

Prepare detailed bid estimates using software, spreadsheets, and manual calculations

Evaluate potential projects and provide recommendations based on company priorities and market conditions

Assign responsibilities within the estimating team for each project

Review project plans and specifications to confirm full scope and identify risks

Mentor estimators and project coordinators to develop their skills

Prepare bid solicitation documents, instructions to bidders, and other related materials

Maintain thorough documentation of project information and bid processes

Minimum 4 years of estimating experience in commercial construction

Demonstrated portfolio of successful estimates for commercial or institutional projects

Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide a team towards common goals

Effective oral and written communication skills

Strong work ethic with the ability to meet deadlines

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Heavy Bid software is an asset

Post-secondary degree, diploma, or equivalent relevant work experience
