Position: Nutrition Consultant, F/T, $21.50/hr

Choices Market in Parksville currently has a unique Full-time professional opportunity for a Registered Holistic Nutritionist to support our customers with nutrition education.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Engaging with customers and responding to questions in a caring and professional manner
  • Conducting Nutrition Tours Choices Market customers
  • Provide one to one nutrition tours to all new Choices Markets employees
  • Monitoring email: responding to tour requests preparing weekly updates (time commitment of 30-60 minutes per shift)
  • Providing support for online seminars and events (location specific)
  • Hosting in-person and online seminars
  • Building relationships with community members and partners and seeking out new relationships with partners in the wellness space
  • Innovate new nutrition programs and projects
  • Contribute nutrition content to the monthly Choices Market newsletter (as required)
  • Attend and participate in relevant events on behalf of Choices Market
  • Contribute to additional projects and support Nutrition Operations Manager (as required)

    • The ideal applicant:

  • Is passionate about food and nutrition, and is aware of current recommendations and trends
  • Holds a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN or CNP) designation. Completion of a BSc (Bachelor of Science) is considered an asset but is not required
  • Has outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Is comfortable connecting with people and is motivated to help others
  • Able to collaborate and function as a productive team member
  • Is outgoing and able to take initiative
  • Has excellent critical thinking skills and has proven research skills
  • Has good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Is willing and able to stand on their feet for the duration of a shift

    • Applicants will be required to work a variety of shifts, including some evenings and weekends.

    Retail experience is an asset.
