About the Opportunity

We are currently recruiting an experienced MEPH Construction CRE (Contractor's Responsible Engineer) to lead delivery engineering across high-profile, major Network Rail station schemes in the North West of England

While our primary preference is for an Electrically biased professional, we strongly encourage applications from candidates with a Mechanical or SISS / Telecoms background who hold relevant rail station delivery credentials.

Reporting directly to the Project CEM, you will act as a pivotal technical authority bridging design and build-collaborating closely with the Design CEM during constructability reviews, steering engineering processes from a delivery viewpoint, and overseeing engineering sign-off on-site through to commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engineering Governance:
Act as formally signed-off Construction CRE under Network Rail standard /L2/INI/02009 (or equivalent company assurance processes).
  • Design & Constructability Integration:
Liaise directly with the Design CEM and multidisciplinary design teams to review, challenge, and shape design deliverables, ensuring buildability, compliance, and staging alignment.
  • On-Site Technical Assurance:
Provide technical oversight and sign-off for temporary and permanent MEPH / SISS installations across live station environments.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all works strictly adhere to Network Rail standards, CDM regulations, EMC/earthing bonding criteria, and station operational constraints.
  • Interface Management:
Coordinate with civil, structural, architectural, P-Way, and operational station management stakeholders to mitigate clashes and station disruption.
  • Reporting:
Maintain structured technical reporting to the Project CEM, driving issue resolution, technical queries (RFIs), and engineering changes.
Candidate Requirements
  • CRE

    Competency:

Proven track record holding formal Network Rail Construction CRE competency (MEPH, Electrical, Mechanical, or SISS).
  • Major Stations

    Experience:

Demonstrable history delivering complex station upgrades/new-builds within live Network Rail operating environments.
  • Technical Background:
Qualified in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems/Telecommunications Engineering (HNC/HND/Degree or relevant professional registration/chartership preferred).
