As a Client Service Specialist, you will support the review and examination of Medicaid cost reports by performing structured procedures that help ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with program requirements. You will assist analysts and managers by conducting detailed documentation reviews and examinations, verifying financial data, preparing working papers, and communicating with providers to obtain or clarify information.

As a Client Service Specialist, You Will

• Review and examine Medicaid cost reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with program rules.
• Follow established procedures to analyze provider submissions and verify all required information.
• Verify, evaluate and analyze cost report data against general ledgers, trial balances, invoices, financial statements, and other supporting documentation to identify discrepancies, unusual reporting patterns, or inconsistencies.
• Communicate professionally to request missing documentation, clarifications or obtain additional information from providers when needed.
• Prepare organized, accurate, and thorough work papers documenting findings and examination or review steps performed.
• Research fundamental issues using online tools and electronic regulations.
• Support internal teams with review/examination tasks, analysis, and special projects.
• Perform other duties as needed on engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel.

What You Need From This Role

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and the flow of financial records required.
• Ability to read and interpret trial balances, general ledger details, and financial statements required.
• Experience performing basic reconciliations (e.g., 941 salary reconciliations or similar) preferred.
• Familiarity with Medicaid or Medicare reimbursement preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills required.
• Clear and professional communication skills with a positive, patient, and professional attitude required.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, proactively solve problems, and meet deadlines required.
• Integrity, dependability, and trustworthiness required.
• Ability to pass a Level 2 background check, including fingerprinting required.
