Armed Security Officer

SSP. is seeking an Armed Security Officer to support safe, professional operations at client sites in Sarasota and Manatee Counties.

The Armed Security Officer maintains a safe environment through a visible, proactive security presence and disciplined incident response. This role helps protect people, property, and assets while ensuring compliance with site requirements and established procedures.

You will serve as a key point of contact on shift, using sound judgment to deter threats, monitor activity, and promptly and appropriately escape concerns.

• Provide a visible armed security presence and maintain order in accordance with client and company policies
• Patrol assigned areas, monitor access points, and observe/report suspicious or unsafe activity
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and violations with calm, professional decision-making
• Write clear, timely incident and activity reports, including observations and actions taken
• Coordinate with supervisors and relevant stakeholders as needed to ensure continuity of safety operations

• Ability to work part-time and follow assigned shift schedules reliably
• Strong observation skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Willingness to follow site-specific post orders, policies, and procedures
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, team members, and the public
• Capability to perform security duties, including standing, walking, and patrolling during shifts

• Prior security or public safety experience
• Familiarity with incident reporting practices and writing concise factual documentation
• Experience working in a regulated or high-responsibility environment where procedure adherence is critical
• Demonstrated customer service skills alongside security-focused professionalism

Hourly rate: $20.00
