ERM, the world’s largest pure‑play sustainability consultancy, is hiring an experienced Senior Ecologist to support BNG assessments. This desk‑based role involves delivering BNG assessments across the UK.

• Lead as the first point of contact for expert BNG advice to colleagues and clients.
• Utilize your background in terrestrial ecology and knowledge of the UK Habitat Classification System.
• Apply BNG metric and other UK metrics such as the SSER Toolkit.
• Develop fee proposals.
• Engage in higher‑level technical writing for ES ecology chapters.
• Collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage ecological inputs on medium to large‑scale projects.
• Identify risks and opportunities related to BNG.
• Balance and manage priorities under pressure.
• Plan resources and workloads effectively.
• Mentor and learn from others.

• Significant experience in BNG assessments.
• Full membership of a professional body or equivalent.
• Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and manage large‑scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of UK legislation and the planning system.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills with keen attention to detail.
