Cleaner, Cleaning Services

Key Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets and communal areas
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting floors and surfaces
• Empty bins and dispose of waste in line with school procedures
• Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels and toilet roll
• Clean and sanitise touch points (e.g. door handles, handrails)
• Use cleaning equipment and materials safely and correctly
• Follow health & safety, COSHH and safeguarding procedures
• Report any maintenance issues, damages or hazards to the site manager
• Ensure all areas are left clean and ready for the school day

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
• Physically able to carry out cleaning duties
• Understanding of basic health and safety practices

• Previous cleaning experience (especially in a school or similar setting)
• Knowledge of cleaning products and equipment
• Awareness of safeguarding in an educational environment
