Cover Waste Officer

Waste Segregation Officer – PENZANCE

Christmas Holiday / sick leave cover – immediate.

Monday to Saturday inclusive, part time 09:00 – 13:00.

MUST HAVE SAFETY BOOTS AND HIVIZ.

As a Waste Segregation Officer you'll be contributing to an ever‑growing established company that helps customers reduce their environmental impact, conserve natural resources, and reduce landfill.

• Organise customers' waste from bin bags into the correct recycling and non‑recycling bin locations.
• Work on customers' sites and liaise with customers regarding any issues or additional requirements.
• Follow company procedures and environmental regulations for waste handling.
• Operate waste handling equipment safely and effectively (compactors, balers).
• Load and unload waste containers using proper lifting techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness of waste areas, conduct inspections, and report hazards.
• Collaborate with team members to optimise waste management processes.

• Reliable, with good communication skills and willingness to help create a cleaner environment.
• Excellent attention to detail in organising waste into recycling and non‑recycling bins.
• Experience in the waste industry is desirable but not essential.
• Experience dealing with customers face‑to‑face is desirable.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform heavy lifting safely.
• Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with waste handling equipment is a plus.
• Willingness to work in a dynamic environment where safety, organisation, and physical capability are essential.
