As a NESO Policy Analyst, you will play a central part in shaping the future of the GB energy system. SSEN Transmission owns and operates the electricity transmission network in the north of Scotland, and your work will help ensure our interests are understood, represented, and aligned with National Energy System Operators’s (NESO) developing role. You will contribute to the transition to net zero by analysing policy, supporting regulatory decision-making, and strengthening our engagement with key stakeholders across the sector.
Youwill
- Deliver high-quality regulatory submissions and consultation responses that are clear, accurate, and insightful.
- Analyse policy and regulatory developments, advising on their potential impact to support organisational goals.
- Support senior leaders and specialists by identifying regulatory risks, opportunities, and implications.
- Coordinate effective engagement with NESO, government, regulators, and wider industry partners.
- Monitor ongoing policy and regulatory change, providing timely updates on emerging issues and opportunities.
- A strong understanding of GB electricity markets and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in policy analysis, regulatory compliance, or energy system operations.
- Excellent analytical, planning, and organisational skills.
- The ability to communicate complex information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset and the confidence to influence outcomes across teams.
