Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Highways Design Engineer to join their dynamic consultancy team. As a Highways Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of urban landscapes across the UK. Reporting directly to the Senior Engineer, you will be involved in all stages of highway schemes, from initial feasibility studies through to design, consultation and implementation.

The role offers opportunities to work on various aspects of highway engineering, including geometric design, public realm design, cycle infrastructure, bus scheme improvements, junction design, drainage systems (SUD), safety enhancement schemes, 20 mph zones, parking scheme design, utility diversions (NRSWA) and hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) measures.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in the Perth office.

• Design and implement highway engineering solutions as part of design teams
• Prepare reports, drawings, schedules, bills of quantities, cost estimates and other documents in accordance with local procedures
• Identify risks and mitigation, produce risk reports, record incidents, investigate and recommend future improvements
• Undertake designer duties tasks as required under the CDM Regulations
• Handle day‑to‑day correspondence and other communications professionally and effectively

• Qualified Highways Design Engineer with a BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in designing new development related projects, particularly technical aspects of highways adoption issues, S38, S278 and urban realm design
• Strong communication skills and working knowledge of Civils 3D
