Assistant Team Leader, Access Team – Perth & Kinross Council

Salary: £24,889 – £26,813 (18 hours per week)

Location:

Pullar House, Perth

Responsibilities
  • Assist in supervising a busy team of social workers, community care assistants, and mental health assistants.
  • Review Adult Support & Protection cases and reports.
  • Ensure service delivery and completion of all statutory duties related to adult social work.
  • Represent the team in various multi‑agency settings.
  • Support the management of the Access Team within the Early Intervention and Prevention Service.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Motivated, engaging, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective time management; ability to handle competing demands and respond flexibly to crises.
  • Good understanding of SDS and Adult Protection.
  • Experience assessing social and personal care needs.
  • Sound knowledge of social work principles and values.
  • Experience with Adult Support and Protection procedures and relevant legislation.
  • DIPSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent social work qualifications.
  • Current registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and eligibility to register with the PVG scheme.
  • Valid UK driving licence (required for travel across Perth and Kinross).
