To strengthen laboratory operations, our client is seeking a motivated technician who enjoys working in a quality‑driven setting and contributing to reliable laboratory outcomes.

Job Description

The Technician role focuses on laboratory‑based quality and production activities related to diagnostic materials and microbiological media. In this position, you will support daily laboratory operations by preparing samples, conducting tests, and ensuring results meet defined quality and regulatory standards. You will work closely with colleagues to maintain compliance with established procedures while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Accuracy, documentation, and adherence to guidelines are essential aspects of this role.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare samples, reagents, and intermediate materials for testing and production
  • Perform microbiological, pH, and contamination‑related analyses in line with approved procedures
  • Document test results accurately and report any deviations or irregularities
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is used correctly and maintained according to standards
  • Follow quality systems, safety guidelines, and good manufacturing practices
  • Support inventory tracking and administrative laboratory tasks
  • Collaborate with team members to meet operational timelines and quality targets
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Previous exposure to laboratory environments, preferably within GMP or regulated settings
  • Understanding of quality systems such as ISO standards
  • Ability to apply aseptic working methods and basic laboratory techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to documentation
  • Good communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset
  • Willingness to work in a rotating shift pattern
Benefits
  • Location:

    United Kingdom (onsite laboratory environment)
  • Salary indication: approximately £13.50 per hour (around £28,000 annually)
  • Working hours:

    40 hours per week with alternating early and late shifts
  • Contract type: full‑time temporary contract for 6 months, with potential extension
  • Shift pattern: early shifts (6:00‑14:30) and late shifts (14:00‑22:30)
  • Start date:

    as soon as possible
