Responsibilities- Provide bookkeeping assistance to clients in an app integrated cloud-based environment from client supplied records. (QBO, Dext, Plooto etc)
- Preparing payroll and related filings, bank and credit card reconciliations, HST returns, financial statements and reports.
- Providing bookkeeping, accounting and software support services to clients.
- Follow documented bookkeeping processes.
- Proactively following up with clients and build positive working relationships.
- Effectively responding to requests or queries, and keeping the team apprised of any potential issues.
- Participating in practice and professional development initiatives.
- Working closely with their clients to identify and understand industry trends, key performance drivers, and emerging opportunities.
- Graduation from a postsecondary institution – bookkeeping diploma would be an asset.
- Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience with bookkeeping skills, preferably in public practice or for multiple clients.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and trouble shooting skills are essential.
- Experience with cloud-based accounting software.
- Ability to change priorities quickly and easily, meet recurring deadlines and take ownership of assigned client work.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn and develop.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team.
