Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineering
Position Overview
We are looking for a Material Order Tracking Specialist for our Peterborough, Ontario site. The role supports BWXT NEC's Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions group, involved in design, manufacture, development, testing, parts supply, and service of on-power refueling, reactor maintenance, and nuclear medicine delivery tooling.
BWXT NEC is the original designer of automated systems that enable 24/7 on-power refueling of CANDU reactors and delivers equipment used in most Canadian nuclear power plants, contributing to carbon-free energy production and lifesaving medical isotopes.
Location:
onsite in Peterborough, Ontario.
- Expedite materials to meet production schedule
- Ensure lead times are met with suppliers for materials required for the production schedule
- Maintain up-to-date order status (in ERP system) for assigned orders
- Provide timely internal communication regarding potential material shortages impacting production
- Identify potential delays and take necessary actions to minimize impact on production schedules
- Seek continuous improvement to programs and procedures
- Support the resolution of defective or unacceptable goods/documentation with internal stakeholders, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action
- In-depth knowledge of business office processes and practices with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, including understanding of manufacturing processes
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Superior organizational skills with high attention to detail and a commitment to process improvement
- Proven time management and organizational skills, able to work under pressure with tight timelines and conflicting priorities
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, able to work effectively as part of a team or independently
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Ability to hold yourself accountable

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $63,000 and $98,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
