Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a Construction Manager based at our Anglian Water Region.

You will report directly to the Operations Director, and your role will involve working within Water and Water Recycling Non-Infrastructure to manage health, safety, environmental, and sustainability aspects, with responsibility for CDM compliance across all delivered construction work. While primarily focused on managing construction delivery, you’ll adopt a wider pan-Alliance perspective, demonstrating appropriate alliancing behaviors and leadership within integrated teams.

As a Construction Manager, you will lead construction delivery across major infrastructure schemes. Your responsibilities include ensuring buildability from the outset, optimizing delivery through planning and innovation, and managing teams to deliver high-quality outcomes safely and efficiently.

  • Lead construction activities across large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with programme strategy and milestones.
  • Drive safe, efficient, and high-quality construction methods, including offsite and industrialised techniques.
  • Collaborate with design, procurement, and delivery teams to ensure constructability and reduce on-site time.
  • Develop construction phase plans, manage on-site risks, and oversee health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
  • Monitor construction performance, costs, and progress, working with planners and cost managers to forecast and report.
  • Facilitate project rehearsals and activity planning to optimise sequencing and identify constraints early.
  • Support commissioning and asset handover to Anglian Water Operations.
  • Lead, develop, and manage construction teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and alliance behaviors.
  • Champion innovation by incorporating new construction techniques and standardised approaches where suitable.
  • About You

You'll be an experienced construction professional capable of leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex infrastructure projects from planning to handover. You will bring:

    • Proven experience in delivering large-scale construction projects (£20m+), preferably in water or utilities sectors.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage stakeholders and drive performance.
    • Deep understanding of construction methods, buildability, and delivery assurance.
    • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards, with a commitment to safe practices.
    • Commercial awareness, including cost management, risk mitigation, and change control.
    • Experience with digital tools and planning systems.
