Responsibilities- Deliver a comprehensive Dermatology service, including inpatient and outpatient care, referrals and treatment.
- Cover urgent inpatient referrals and GP queries in working hours; no formal out of hours cover required on a regular basis.
- Support, train and govern nurses and any junior medical staff; anticipate support for local GPwER, GPs in training and students from regional hospitals.
- Participate actively in clinical audit, continuing professional development and research; contribute to Trust and CBU Clinical Governance processes including monthly half days.
- Deliver clinics in an allocated outpatient area equipped with UVB, patch testing and surgical facilities; inpatient admissions under shared care arrangement with medical teams.
- Collaborate closely with the Trust’s Plastic Surgery Team and link in to MDT with Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge.
- Full GMC registration.
- 4 years postgraduate medical experience, with at least 2 years in Dermatology (General Adult and Paediatric Dermatology).
- Evidence of supervising and teaching junior doctors, nurses and students.
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
- Desirable: MRCP Diploma or equivalent in Dermatology.
- Interest in research and ability to apply research outcomes to clinical problems.
- Understanding and experience of audit.
- Organise and manage daily working priorities; good understanding of principles and practice of clinical governance.
- Willingness to work within the Trust and NHS performance framework and targets.
