The Apprenticeship – New apprentices will join our Manufacturing Engineering Team at the Peterborough Facility (PE1 5FQ
). The team designs and improves high‑quality, low‑cost manufacturing processes that create defect‑free components for our engines.

Our Apprentices Will

  • earn a competitive salary, starting at c. £24,931 per year,
  • receive 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays,

Qualifications

Our 53‑month apprenticeship, delivered in partnership with CU Apprenticeships (Better Futures) Ltd – part of Coventry University – combines on‑the‑job training with university learning to achieve a Level 6 Manufacturing Engineer Apprenticeship certificate and a BEng (Hons) Manufacturing Engineering qualification.

Applicants will attend university sessions on a day‑release basis: online synchronous delivery once a week and on‑campus sessions in Coventry 1‑2 times per month. Post‑completion, apprentices may apply for IEng (Incorporated Engineer) professional registration status.

The Experience

Apprentices drive performance and efficiency improvements into existing processes, ensuring customer requirements for quality, cost, and demand are met while adhering to standards, policies, and practices.

Activities Include – but are not limited to

  • analysis of manufacturing processes across the Machining Centre of Excellence;
  • adherence to product design requirements, cost, quality, safety, and environmental standards;
  • collaboration with Operations, Quality, Design Engineering, and Supply Chain to develop essential manufacturing engineering skills.

We also provide placements across quality, operational leadership, global manufacturing, supplier development, and Design Engineering.

Entry Requirements

  • GCSEs:
    Grade C or above in Maths and English;
  • A‑Levels: minimum 96 tariff points, including Grade C or above in A‑Level Mathematics, A‑Level Science, and one other subject;
  • Alternative:
    Extended Diploma or National Extended Diploma in Engineering or related subject with a Merit profile.

Equivalent academic achievements are welcomed. Predicted grades are accepted, and offers are conditional on achieving required grades before September 2026.

Recruitment Timeline

  • Go Live: 1st December 2025;
  • Closing Date: 18th January 2026;
  • Assessment Centre (in‑person): 30th March – 10th April 2026;
  • Engagement Day (in‑person): 2nd July 2026 (provisional);

    Start Date:

    7th September 2026 (provisional).
