Are you hands-on, mechanically minded, and looking to kick-start your engineering career in a fast-moving production environment?

This role is ideal for someone early in their maintenance journey — whether you’re an  engineering graduate , apprentice-trained, or simply mechanically capable and looking to step into a dedicated maintenance role. You’ll join a well-established manufacturing site and work alongside experienced engineers who’ll help you build real, practical engineering skills.

You’ll support the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager with planned maintenance, basic fault-finding, machine adjustments, and general site engineering tasks to keep machinery running safely and efficiently.

Junior Maintenance Engineer

Key Responsibilities      Carry out routine planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery and site equipment
Support the engineering team with basic repairs, adjustments, and day-to-day engineering tasks
Assist with fault-finding and follow escalation procedures for more complex issues
Work closely with Production Supervisors to keep lines running and minimise downtime
Contribute ideas to improve machine reliability and reduce engineering downtime
Maintain accurate digital logs and engineering records
Skills & Experience required for a Junior Maintenance Engineer
An engineering apprenticeship, college training, or  engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, manufacturing or similar)
Practical mechanical skills — comfortable with tools, checks, and simple diagnostics
Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
A proactive, reliable approach and willingness to learn from experienced engineers
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with production and engineering teams
