Jacobs invites recent graduates to join our Water and Environment Business Unit as Hydraulic Modellers. In this role you will support a multidisciplinary team on projects for the Environment Agency, SEPA, water companies and infrastructure providers, applying advanced modelling techniques to deliver flood risk management and environmental solutions.
About the OpportunityYou will work on a broad portfolio of projects, from assessing river restoration schemes to mapping flood risk and designing flood defence structures. The Graduate Development Programme provides structured learning, mentoring, onsite experience and the opportunity to specialise in an area that interests you.
Responsibilities- Use hydraulic and hydrological modelling software to analyse river systems and flood risk.
- Assist in the design of flood management solutions such as weirs, gates, sluices and storage reservoirs.
- Collaborate with engineers, environmental scientists and client stakeholders to deliver project outcomes.
- Document methodology and findings for internal and client reports.
- Participate in the Graduate Development Programme, completing coursework, mentoring sessions and progress reviews.
- Currently studying or recently completed a degree or master’s in Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics or Computer Science.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a keen interest in water and environmental issues.
- Proactive, flexible, and ready to take initiative in a dynamic environment.
