Level 3 Mechatronics Apprenticeship – Caterpillar Inc.

Opportunity to join Caterpillar’s Peterborough facility (PE1 5FQ
) as part of a 4‑year advanced apprenticeship program, working across Maintenance, Quality and Research & Development teams.

• Maintain production equipment and facilities, diagnosing faults and completing repairs using computerised systems.
• Support quality initiatives, including engine return investigations, NPI validation, and handling of assembly test rejects.
• Assist in research and development activities, such as building, rigging and testing new technologies.
• Participate in rotational training to gain experience in Mechanical & Electrical maintenance, robotics, CNC operations, engine assembly, and electric vehicle testing.
• Collaborate across teams, contributing to real‑world problem solving and customer support.

• GCSEs:
  Five GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) or above, including Maths, English and a Science/Engineering subject.
• Alternatively, one year full‑time further education with Performing Engineering Operations, Level 2 (6 units) and Maths & English at Level 2.
• A‑Levels not required.
• Equivalent qualifications are welcome; predicted grades may be submitted with application.

• Competitive salary starting at £15,311 per year.
• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

• 4‑year advanced apprenticeship supported by College of West Anglia (Wisbech Campus).
• Opportunity to obtain Eng Tech professional registration upon completion.
