We are looking to strengthen our engineering team with a Civil Design Engineer based at our @One Alliance, Peterborough office, with hybrid working available.

You will report directly to the Senior Civil Engineer, and your role will be to provide high-quality engineering design services to minimize risks and maximize profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. You will coordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings, considering health and safety requirements, specifications, and standards related to the contract.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Produce cost-effective design layouts that meet specifications and are practical for construction and commissioning.
  • Utilize standard practices wherever possible.
  • Provide estimates and feedback to the proposals department.
  • Follow procedures and processes to support the department's development.
  • Monitor and review these procedures and processes.
  • Develop and update procedures to ensure smooth departmental operations.
  • Coordinate designs with all disciplines, internal and external, to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Maintain a customer-focused culture, recognizing that satisfying the customer is key to achieving objectives, including end users and other departments.
  • Ensure designs consider environmental issues.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to health and safety requirements.

    • Essential qualifications and experience:

    • Minimum of HNC/HND in Civil Engineering with extensive experience in Civil Engineering.
    • Understanding of water and sewage treatment principles.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Relevant discipline Engineering degree.
    • Ability to rationalize designs and produce economical plant layouts.
    • Flexible mindset with the ability to handle large amounts of data.
    • Ability to present technical proposals clearly and confidently.
    • Computer literacy.
