- Support the consolidation and delivery of budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare ad hoc analysis as required by key stakeholders.
- Business Partner providing analysis and insight to optimise value.
- Support the FP&A team, to deliver project work across the team.
- Be an advocate of internal controls in line with ABF policy.
- Key co‑ordination in the annual budget, quarterly forecasts including drafting timetables and agreeing deadlines with key stakeholders
- Lead the preparation of management reporting packs for submission to ABF Sugar and Board presentation packs.
- Monitor financial results and provide insights to review key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Ad hoc support and requests from the Head of FP&A as necessary.
- For certain overhead functions, ensure implement monthly cost review meetings with Budget holders to review actual costs incurred, and outlook for the remainder of the year. Have a good working knowledge of the procurement policy, and contract renewal periods, to enable contract renewal processed are cost conscious and compliant with procurement policy.
- Develop good working relationships with the budget holders, to allow a challenging, and not confrontational review of cost base. Support and influence business decisions as required by the budget holder.
- Lead on the corporate overhead review at a quarterly forecast, including working closely with CI on the Central PIP programme to identify cost savings.
- Ensure a good awareness of British Sugar operations and develop an awareness of how that would impact the financial results.
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and reporting.
- Implement automation and best practices in planning, modelling, and analytics.
- Evaluate and improve systems used for budgeting and reporting.
- Deputise in absence of Head of FP&A, for certain activities including prioritisation and co‑ordination of activities across the team
- Support and mentor FP&A team members and ensuring mitigation of the risk of a single point of failure across the team
- Oversight of sugar stock and production variance reporting and forecasting, performed by the FP&A Management accountant
- Balance sheet reconciliation review and journal entry approval at period end.
- CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified with PQE
- Knowledge of British Sugar business model desirable
- Understanding of effective financial controls
- Uses 2-way communication and active listening techniques to drive collaboration and comprehension
- Senior stakeholder management including British Sugar Board and ABFS, and ensure communication is tailored for the audience.
- Able to prioritise and manage own workload balancing conflicting priorities
- Able to work within and be part of a high performing team
