In this high impact role, you'll provide pragmatic, solutions focused advice to internal client departments across the Council. Your work will span contracts
, procurement law
, grant funding agreements
, subsidy control
, GDPR
, development projects
, and governance matters. You'll be part of a supportive Commercial, Contracts & Procurement team that includes a Principal Lawyer, five Senior Lawyers and two Legal Officers.

Our Legal Department is a robust, collaborative service of around 50 officers across four sections:
Planning & Property
, Commercial, Contracts & Procurement
, Child Protection
, and Litigation (including Adult Social Care and Employment). We primarily support PCC services and also provide external legal support to other local authorities-offering rich, varied work and real community impact.
