Work with us at Riverford, and join a thriving employee-owned business

* Be part of a supportive, down-to-earth and solutions driven Supply Chain team

* Beyond the Veg Box - At Riverford, our passion for organic vegetables is unmatched. We’re not just about delivering veg boxes; we're dedicated to sustainable farming and community building. As a part of our team, you become a co-owner, sharing in our successes and contributing to a mission that goes beyond profit. We aim to make Riverford a fulfilling place to work, where our co-owners feel valued.

* Sacrewell Farm in Peterborough is a beautiful place to work, surrounded by good people, good food, and plenty of fresh air. As a co-owner, you’ll benefit from 33 days holiday (pro rata, including bank holidays), an ethical & generous company pension scheme, and an annual profit share, where 10% of all profits are split equally among co-owners. We also offer heavily discounted organic breakfasts and lunches, free organic fruit and veg to take home and free parking.

* Grow with Riverford - Take the next step in your personal and professional journey with training tailored to help you grow and achieve your goals.

As our Supply Chain Assistant, you’ll help shape Riverford’s future.

As Supply chain Assistant you will be involved in the end-to-end process of securing, ordering, and monitoring produce requirements in line with sales, quality, and demand levels, continuously reassessing the impact any changes may have to plans already in place.

You will work alongside other teams, both on and off site to ensure that the stock is moved to the relevant temperature environments and make certain that accurate stock movement is recorded on stock documents. This is largely an office-based role, however there is an expectation to be aware of the whole site, including the farm, and completing stock takes at the end of the day, along with maintaining crucial working relationships.

You will be expected to use your planning and communication skills to talk to a wide range of departments across the business and external suppliers, keep ahead of any potential issues, ensure contingency planning is in place, and ensure the consistent supply of produce to our customers.

You’ll be great at working with and interrogating numbers and trends, enjoy working at pace and be willing to become our ‘go-to’ person for anyone needing to know what the most current stock situation is.

Salary: £28,267 per annum

Location - Sacrewell Farm, Thornhaugh, Peterborough, PE8 6HJ

Hours - 40 hours a week – Sunday to Thursday, with working hours between 06:00 & 18:00 on a routine shift basis, but flexibility is required, especially in the absence of another member of the team. This is a 9-12 Month Maternity Cover Contract.

What You’ll Bring

* Knowledge of a computerised stock system

* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

* Excellent communication and time management skills

* Accurate, with great attention to detail, specifically with numbers

* Organised with the ability to be adaptable and reprioritise workload due to urgency and impact.

* There may be occasion for you to use an Electric Pallet Truck but don’t worry, we’ll train you to do so.

* As this role involves regular communication with suppliers, strong written English skills and fluency in spoken English are required.

What We’re Looking For…

* Be passionate about the Riverford values and what that means in the way we look after our people.

* Team player, enthusiastic, flexible, and adaptable, demonstrating a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.

* A genuine interest in making sure we deliver quality fresh produce to our customers.
