Peterborough is currently seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Assessment Service on a hybrid working basis.

Social Worker - Assessment Service

Location:

Sand Martin House (Hybrid)
Rate: £40.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Working Pattern:

Team operates on a three-week duty rota
When on duty, social workers must work in the office
Off-duty weeks allow focus on ongoing casework

About the Role

Children's Social Workers in the Assessment Team respond to referrals where concerns have been raised about a child's safety or wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

Investigating concerns and assessing risks and protective factors
Conducting home visits and direct work with children and families
Ensuring the child's voice is central to all assessments and planning
Completing Section 17 Single Assessments and Section 47 Enquiries
Attending Initial Child Protection Conferences and Child in Need meetings
Preparing Section 7 reports for private law proceedings when required

Essential Requirements:

Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
Social Work England Registration
Driving licence and access to own vehicle
