Quantity Surveyor; Civils

Position: Quantity Surveyor (Civils) (Permanent)
Kenton Black are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor. Based in the North of Scotland, the client is a reputable civil engineering contractor recognised for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across the region.

In your new role as Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial function across a portfolio of civil engineering works. You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and budgets, producing bills of quantities, and ensuring all commercial reporting is delivered on time. You will monitor project costs and progress, ensuring alignment with agreed budgets, contractual obligations, and programme milestones.

You will procure subcontractors, negotiate terms, and carry out regular site visits to support project delivery. You will also be expected to provide commercial insight to support cost-effective strategies and proactively manage commercial risks.

As a minimum, you must have 5 years’ NEC contract type experience working on construction or civil engineering projects and hold a Degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification. Your employment history must be supported by positive working references.
