The Company

A leading name in automotive manufacturing is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join their team in Peterlee. Working on a three-shift rotation, you ll oversee both machine shop and assembly operations, ensuring that safety, quality, and performance targets are consistently achieved. Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of production operatives to achieve performance, quality, and safety targets.
  • Oversee daily production activities, ensuring smooth shift handovers and effective communication between teams.
  • Drive performance and efficiency using lean manufacturing principles.
  • Allocate resources to meet production schedules and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Work with Maintenance to address equipment issues and minimise downtime.
  • Support a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements that improve productivity and quality.
  • Manage internal and customer issues, implementing robust corrective actions.
Skills and Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Production Supervisor (minimum 3 years in a similar environment).
  • Background in automotive or precision engineering/manufacturing is essential.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety regulations and production best practices.
  • Excellent people management, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Proactive leader who drives engagement, accountability, and improvement.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and production management systems.
  • Analytical, reliable, and adaptable with a positive, hands-on approach.
