• Job Title: Supplier Development Engineer
• Rate: £50.00 per hour
• Duration: 12 months (Likely to extend)
• Start Date: 5th January 2026 (Estimated)
• Working Hours: 08:00-16:00 core, site-based.

• Confirming parts meet engineering print requirements and validating supplier capacity to ship parts on time.
• Conducting quality control audits to ensure compliance with standards and policies.
• Ensuring the quality of supplies through tests and assessments.
• Developing supplier inspection, testing, and evaluation mechanisms.
• Guiding suppliers to reduce defect rates and generating reports on supplier quality.
• Supporting suppliers in performance improvement through process enhancements and quality assurance plans.
• Researching potential vendors and assessing their manufacturing environment, practices, and procedures.

The hiring manager is looking for someone with a strong "can-do" approach and exceptional attention to detail.

• Robust Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) skill.
• Robust Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) skill.
• Build in quality skills (e.g., ability to determine root cause and implement action).

• A minimum of 10+ years’ experience is preferred

• Candidates with slightly less shop floor experience (around 5 years) will be considered if they also hold a degree.
• Experience in a Manufacturing Engineer background is transferable.
• You must be able to lead structured problem-solving efforts and champion quality as a strategic value.
