Sales Engineer

Datacenter People is partnering with a designer and manufacturer of custom low and medium voltage electrical equipment for data centers and other mission critical facilities.

• Partner with Sales to lead technical discussions with customers, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders throughout the opportunity lifecycle.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor on Kratos low- and medium-voltage switch gear, power distribution products and their application within customer electrical systems.
• Understand customer requirements, one-lines, specifications and application needs and help translate them into viable Kratos solutions.
• Support early solution development, product selection and system configuration to improve opportunity qualification and increase win probability.
• Serve as the primary technical bridge between Sales and Applications. Engineering, ensuring customer requirements, assumptions and technical considerations are clearly understood before detailed quoting and engineering.
• Identify technical risks, specification gaps, exceptions and opportunities early enough to influence the solution and commercial strategy.
• Participate in customer presentations, technical reviews, design discussions and other pre-sales engagements.
• Develop strong relationships with consulting engineers, electrical contractors, end users and other technical decision-makers and position Kratos as a trusted power distribution partner.
• Maintain strong knowledge of Kratos products, applicable industry standards, market requirements and competitive solutions and share customer and market insights with Sales, Product Management and Engineering.
• Support the development of technical sales tools, product training and education that strengthen the broader sales team's ability to effectively position Kratos solutions.

• 5+ years' of relevant experience with electrical distribution equipment, switch gear, power systems or related engineered electrical products.
• Strong technical knowledge of low- or medium-voltage switch gear required; experience across both LV and MV strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of switchboards, metal-clad or metal-enclosed switch gear, circuit breakers, protection and control, and related power distribution equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical one-lines, plans, specifications and technical requirements.
• Understanding of switch gear applications, configurations, ratings and relevant ANSI, IEEE and UL standards.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly with customers, sales professionals and engineering teams.
• Experience supporting technical sales, applications engineering, consulting engineering, product engineering or a similar customer-facing technical role.
• Strong customer orientation with the ability to understand both the technical requirement and the business problem the customer is trying to solve.
• Experience with major switch gear manufacturers and offerings strongly preferred.
• Ability to travel for customer meetings, industry events and project support.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
• Experience with mission-critical, data center, industrial or other high-availability power distribution applications strongly preferred.
