Subcontract Buyer - Major Project

Salary: £65,000-£68,000 & enhanced package

Sphere Solutions are working in partnership with a Tier 1 contractor to recruit a Subcontract Buyer for a multi-million-pound scheme in Plymouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading contractor on a flagship project, playing a key role in the successful procurement and management of subcontract packages.

• Manage procurement of subcontract packages across both civils and build elements.
• Work closely with the commercial and project delivery teams to ensure cost-effective procurement.
• Lead subcontractor negotiations, ensuring compliance with NEC4 Option contracts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the supply chain.
• Provide ongoing commercial support through subcontract lifecycle, including variations and final accounts.
• Support accurate forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to senior management.

• Proven procurement experience within the industry is essential.
• Familiarity with NEC4 Option contract frameworks.
• Previous experience as a Sub-contract Buyer or Senior Quantity Surveyor with subcontract procurement responsibilities.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and commercial management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid role, balancing site, office, and home working.

• Salary up to £68,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
• Car package - Car Allowance £6,000 or company car via salary sacrifice
