Plessey is seeking a Shift Equipment Engineer to support the performance, reliability, and safety of a wide spectrum of semiconductor electronic equipment within our advanced micro
LED production environment. This is a hands‑on role offering the opportunity to develop deep expertise across complex toolsets, contribute to next‑generation display technology, and play an important part in the growth of a rapidly expanding manufacturing operation.
- Carry out maintenance and repair of a wide spectrum of semiconductor electronic equipment
- Perform equipment qualification to ensure tools meet performance and safety requirements
- Support FAB production operations, including gas bottle and chemical changeovers
- Serve as an active member of the site Emergency Response Team
- Ensure all work is completed in line with defined quality, safety, and cleanroom standards
- Provide full support for critical equipment areas, including product loading/unloading, maintenance, process monitoring, repairs and improvement activities
- Deliver project work and continuous improvement initiatives as agreed with the team leader
- HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant technical apprenticeship
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with maintenance, repair, and fault‑finding on electrical, electronic or mechanical equipment
- Proven troubleshooting, fault‑finding, and problem‑solving capability
- Strong understanding of electro‑mechanical systems and ability to apply knowledge to new equipment types
- Strong team working skills and a highly motivated, organised approach with a “can‑do” attitude
- Experience working with or maintaining semiconductor manufacturing equipment in a cleanroom environment
