The RoleAs a Mechanical and Electrical Building Surveyor, you’ll have an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on national security while advancing your career in a dynamic and growing sector. Day‑to‑day, you’ll provide a vital building services asset surveying service to our customers, including the Ministry of Defence and Babcock Plant Managers, under the Future Maritime Support Programme (FMSP) contract. Your work will determine asset condition, ensure statutory compliance, and identify essential works to maintain operational readiness.
Day‑to‑DayResponsibilities
- Conduct building services asset surveys across a variety of building types
- Produce detailed technical reports and specifications for customers
- Assess asset condition and recommend works for compliance and maintenance
- Interrogate technical information for KPI reporting
- Create technical drawings and support regulatory compliance
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong self‑motivation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- In‑depth understanding of building services and regulations
- Experience producing technical reports and specifications
- Knowledge of compliance standards and ability to produce technical drawings
- Degree or HND in Building Services or similar – Desirable
- Membership of a relevant professional institute – Desirable
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
