We have an exciting opportunity for a Release & Transfer Nurse to join our Primary Care Team at HMP Altcourse, a category B prison located in the Fazakerley area of Liverpool.

• 07:00 - 20:00
• 08:00 - 21:00
• 09:00 - 22:00
• Nights: 19:45 - 07:15

Full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £41,659 per annum – depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

As a Release and Transfer Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Manage the assessment of health needs, planning, delivery and evaluation of care, for the prison population, including clinical risk assessment
• Provide care and planning for adult male prisoners from the point of reception until the day of release or transfer to another establishment
• Work collaboratively with the patient and any other agencies to support a safe transition back into the community or another establishment
• Administer medication
• Provide planned and unplanned care and respond to emergencies

• Registered Adult Nurse
• Evidence of implementation of local and national policies e.g. NICE guidance
• Experience demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise
• Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate openly, consistently and clearly
• Flexible attitude to working arrangements
• Experience and knowledge of substance misuse

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
