Salary: £28,000–£30,000 | Permanent | Monday–Friday 7.30am–4pm
Pertemps is recruiting on behalf of their client for a proactive Supply Chain / Procurement Coordinator. You’ll play a key role in keeping projects running smoothly, making sure materials, suppliers, and schedules are all aligned.
What you’ll do:
Procurement & Materials Management
Source timber, engineered wood, panel products, fixings, membranes, cranes, and haulage. Ensure materials are delivered to site or manufacturing facilities on time.
Raise and manage purchase orders, update schedules, and track deliveries. Monitor weather impacts on operations.
Supplier Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers. Negotiate pricing, lead times, and agreements. Monitor performance and address quality, delivery, or service issues.
Cost Control
Manage material costs in line with budgets. Identify opportunities for savings, bulk purchasing, and alternative sourcing. Track price changes and report findings.
Project Coordination
Liaise with design, estimating, production, and site teams to ensure purchasing supports project schedules. Resolve supply chain challenges promptly.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure materials meet industry standards, building regulations, and company requirements. Maintain timber certifications and manage non-conforming materials.
Stock & Inventory Management
Monitor core materials and plan project-specific requirements. Minimise waste and optimise stock levels on-site and off-site.
Administration & Reporting
Maintain accurate records and support audits. Report on supplier performance, cost savings, price changes, and material allocation.
What we’re looking for:
Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain coordination
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change
Construction, timber frame, manufacturing, or related industry experience is advantageous
Knowledge of timber and construction materials
Strong organisational and communication skills
Competent in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft programs
Commercial awareness
