Senior Electrical Estimator

Our client, a prominent electrical contractor involved in diverse industrial and commercial projects, is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join their team in Polokwane , Limpopo . This vital role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical installations. You will be instrumental in securing profitable contracts by providing competitive and thorough bids.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for flexibility while ensuring essential on-site collaboration and client meetings. We are looking for a meticulous and knowledgeable professional who can accurately assess costs and contribute to the company's growth in the Polokwane region.

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for electrical projects.
• Quantify labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs for bid proposals.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify scope and ensure bid accuracy.
• Prepare detailed bid packages and tender submissions.
• Develop and maintain a database of historical cost information and unit pricing.
• Review project changes and assess the cost impact of variations.
  
  Stay informed about industry trends, new materials, and construction technologies relevant to electrical estimating.
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to the development of estimating best practices within the team.

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably within the contracting sector.
• Proven ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, installation methods, and associated costs.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Plan Swift, Bluebeam) and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple estimates concurrently under deadline pressure.
• Must be able to attend meetings and conduct site visits in and around Polokwane as required by the hybrid model.
• Knowledge of local building codes and electrical regulations in Limpopo.
