Quality Control Technician – Fixed Term 12m (Maternity Cover)

Based in Pontefract – moving to South Leeds in May/June 2025

A car driver is essential

My client is recruiting a Quality Control Technician to join their expanding team.

This role is to ensure the safety, quality, legality, and authenticity of products through Quality Control systems and procedures when applied to incoming stock and outgoing samples to customers. Training will be provided; candidates should be available to start in March and possess strong communication and organizational skills. A driving license is essential due to the location and travel to their warehouse in Ossett.

Purpose of the role – full training provided

• Preparation and dispatch of commercial samples to customers
• Conduct QC parameter testing of incoming ingredient samples
• Analyze QC testing results and create Certificates of Analysis
• Organize samples for external laboratory testing

Daily Duties – full training provided

• Travel to the warehouse (based in Wakefield, using a company vehicle) to take samples and retrieve sacks or samples
• Assist in completing customer SSAQ’s
• Update traceability information for samples in the company IT system
• Monitor and control stock, samples, and consumables in the Sampling area
• Organize and document retained samples storage
• Monitor and chase incoming supplier Certificates of Analysis and transfer data to the IT system
• Help monitor and chase due diligence documentation from suppliers
• Work closely with the Quality Coordinator on testing regimes
• Document control and recordkeeping
• Assist in quality issues investigations
• Deputize for the Quality Coordinator in their absence (if trained)
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the sampling/testing area
• Promote Customer Charter Principles and company values
• Assist with other Quality Department admin or improvement initiatives as needed

About You

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract; an immediate start is essential.

A driver’s license and preferably a car are required due to location.

You should demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

Good communication skills are vital, as you'll interact with customers and internal teams.
