Overview

Are you a talented communications professional looking to make a real difference to people's lives? Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking a dynamic Communications and Engagement Officer to join our small but mighty team.

Working with colleagues across our health board, you’ll create content that tells the story of our organisation, our services and our people. You’ll use exceptional writing skills and an eye for design to help us engage audiences across internal and external channels, including social media and web.

This demanding and rewarding role offers you the chance to develop innovative ways to communicate and engage audiences, building a connected workforce and empowered communities. In return, you’ll work with a supportive team and have opportunities for ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities
  • Engage, enthuse, persuade and influence audiences across internal and external channels.
  • Design and deliver campaigns, resources, and activities that ensure colleagues feel listened to, informed and proud of the organisation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with staff, including executive directors and independent members.
  • Act as an ambassador for CTMUHB’s culture and values.
  • Manage relationships with the media confidently, using sensitivity and good judgement to deal with potentially negative stories and secure opportunities to raise the profile of the health board.
Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creativity and strong design sensibility for social media and web.
  • Experience using a range of communication platforms and software.
  • Ability to manage media relations and handle sensitive or potentially negative stories.
  • Welsh skills at Level 3 or above (desirable but not essential).
