Cwm Garw Practice is seeking to appoint a motivated, dynamic and compassionate Salaried General Practitioner to join our established primary care team in Wales. This fixed-term post offers the opportunity to work within a supportive dispensing practice delivering high-quality General Medical Services (GMS) in line with the GMS contract, NHS Wales policies and clinical governance requirements.
The role offers clinical autonomy, flexibility and the opportunity to work within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
Main duties of the jobProvide safe, effective and patient-centred primary medical care to registered patients
Undertake routine and urgent consultations (face-to-face, telephone and/or digital)
Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions in line with NICE guidance and best practice
Prescribe safely and appropriately within professional and practice guidelines
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using the practice clinical system
Participate in clinical governance activities including audit, quality improvement and significant event analysis
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and wider Primary Care Cluster
Contribute to practice meetings and service development
Comply with NHS Wales policies, safeguarding responsibilities and information governance requirements

As a dispensing practice, we offer an integrated service to our patients, supported by an experienced and efficient dispensary team. We work closely with our local Primary Care Cluster, community services and secondary care colleagues.
Our multidisciplinary team includes GPs, practice nurses, pharmacists, HCAs, care coordinators, dispensary staff and a strong administrative and management team. We actively promote staff wellbeing, professional development and sustainable working practices.
Job responsibilitiesLocation: Cwm Garw Practice, Pontycymmer, Bridgend, Wales.
Contract: Salaried GP Fixed term 6months with view to extend to permanent contract at the end of the fixed term.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide safe, effective and patient-centred primary medical care to registered patients

Working Pattern and Benefits
- 6 sessions per week inc. 1 day On-Call (Negotiable) Monday, Tuesday and Friday
- Flexible working arrangements considered
- 10 or 15-minute appointments 25 appointments per day.

About You
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Completion of GP Specialty Training (CCT or equivalent)
