CNC Operator

Focused Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced CNC Operator join join our clients Automotive manufacturing facility on a permanent basis based within the Pontypool area.

You would need to have previous CNC Setting / Operating experience within the Automotive / Aerospace / manufacturing sectors.

Hours of work include:

Monday - Friday following a days, nights & afternoons pattern.

Duties of the role will include:

• Set up and perform changeovers for various machining cells, including tooling and fixture adjustments, ensuring raw materials are readily available for production runs.
• Optimize machine setups for efficiency, minimizing downtime, and ensuring that first-off checks are completed successfully.
• Set up and adjust tooling and fixtures as necessary for production runs.
• Operate CNC milling machines and provide assistance to colleagues when not actively setting up machines.
• Oversee product quality through visual inspections and precise gauge measurements.
• Monitor and track production output against targets, documenting any downtime and rejected parts.
• Conduct daily machining inspections to ensure equipment is operating properly.

Desired skills:

• Proven experience in setting up CNC milling machines is required.
• Strong knowledge of CNC metal cutting and boring processes.
• Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings while adhering to strict tolerances.
• Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues within machining cells.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, or automotive environment is preferred.
• Experience in medium to high-volume production settings.
• Familiarity with quality systems and performing quality checks and measurements using gauges.
