Business Support Manager (Health Protection Operational Team)

The Business Support Manager will be an integral member of the vaccination and immunisation service, while supporting the wider health protection function. The post holder will provide a comprehensive and effective project and managerial support within the department, working on their own initiative within standard operating procedures and adhering to accepted policies and procedures of the University Health Board.
Main duties of the job- Provide project and managerial support that involves providing project management support in a number of areas, evaluating project outcomes and providing recommendations for consideration.
- Work at a high level of autonomy and independence, using own initiative, and have significant discretion within broad occupational policies.
- Line manage administrative support staff within the designated area of responsibility.
- Act as a key point of escalation and direct contact, troubleshooting issues that may prevent timely provision of patient care, liaising with clinical and nursing colleagues as appropriate, and escalating complex or contentious issues.
- Manage health records in line with destruction, retention and archiving within the Care Group, with knowledge of these policies and legislative responsibilities, including Freedom of Information requests.
- Ensure audits are carried out, interrogated, and forward planning of storage is arranged.

Welsh skills desirableThis post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This does not mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we’ll consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. PersonSpecification Other Role Requirements
- Flexible to the needs of the service and able to respond to department changes and priorities.
- Customer care focus and confidence in dealing with client information.
- Meddalwedd Microsoft Office e.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Report writing and presentation skills.
- Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above.
- Experience of working within the NHS.
- Experience in the use of electronic systems/databases.
- Project management experience with demonstrable outcomes.
- Experience of working in a busy office environment.
- Experience of collecting, collating, analysing and presenting waiting list information/data.
- Experience of managing a team of staff.
- Qualified to Degree level or equivalent knowledge and experience or training.
- Knowledge of staff and project management.
- Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant subject or equivalent level of skills, knowledge and experience.
- An understanding of Welsh Immunisation System and Cypris.
