Relief Security Officer – Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services

We are looking for passionate security enthusiasts to join our Security Guard teams nationwide for a new provider project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Flexibility to travel to various DWP sites within the region is required.

Full UK driving licence required.

• Ensure a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property.
• Patrol premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
• Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors in any security‑related matter.
• Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
• Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Look out for and immediately report any health & safety hazards.
• Stay alert to changes within the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce disruptions.
• Use common sense and initiative to involve others if a situation becomes threatening.
• Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations and with challenging customers.
• Complete an accurate notebook entry after any incident for the Incident Report process.
• Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• Call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.

• Previous security experience.
• DS licence preferred.
• Full UK driving licence required.
