Electrical Control & Instrumentation Engineer

Join Ryvita, a 100‑year‑old brand that produces crispbreads and cereals, as a permanent, full‑time Electrical Control & Instrumentation Engineer based at our Poole site. This role supports plant operations, maintenance, projects, and automation.

Overview

We’re looking for an engineer with strong technical capability, excellent problem solving, and a passion for automation, control systems and electrical integrity.

Key Accountabilities
  • Provide control, automation and electrical support for all aspects of operation and engineering during maintenance, improvements, projects and commissioning.
  • Routine monitoring and maintenance of plant electrical, control and automation equipment to ensure reliability.
  • Develop a phased replacement/upgrade strategy for control systems.
  • Assist engineering shifts on fault finding to minimize machine downtime.
  • Modernise factory control, automation and electrical systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA, servo drives, instrumentation).
  • Update the engineering maintenance system to track completed tasks and plan follow‑up work.
  • Embed a safety‑first culture, ensuring full compliance with safety policies and regulations.

Skills and Experience
  • Degree/HND in Electrical Engineering, Control and Instrumentation.
  • 10 years post‑qualification industry experience in EC & I engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of control theory and programming languages.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
  • Health and Safety Champion.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety legislation.
  • Experience with in FMCG production environment is an advantage.
