What you’ll doYour main responsibilities will include providing support and assistance to other members of the team as and when required.
You will- maintain sewage pumping stations and associated assets by carrying out preventative maintenance on all sewage pumping stations and associated assets
- help to diagnose faults on both mechanical and electrical plants
- providing a high level of customer service
- manage pollutions in an effective manner
- ensure the health, safety and welfare of colleagues, the public and yourself.
Providing emergency cover on a standby rota is essential and required so you must have a flexible approach to working weekends.
You will be on a 1 in 4 standby rotation.
What you’ll needYou will be a customer-focused person with a positive approach to resolving problems.
You will need to- be able to work using your own initiative in a pressurised environment during the day or night
- be confined space trained ideally
- be qualified to NVQ level 2 in sewerage operations
- have a willingness to undertake training.
In addition, you will have mechanical and electrical skills with formal qualifications in these areas, however, this is not essential.
