Job Type: Permanent - Associate Band 2

Location: Hybrid – Edinburgh, Telford or Birmingham office. Expected 1-2 days per week in office, subject to business needs.

Role Overview

As a Data Security Support Analyst, you’ll provide first‑line operational support for Phoenix Group’s Data Loss Prevention (DLP) service. Working closely with Data Security Engineers and Senior Engineers you’ll help maintain a secure environment and ensure timely response to data security events. This is an excellent opportunity for those starting their career in cybersecurity or looking to move into data security operations.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor DLP alerts across Microsoft Purview and related platforms.
  • Document incidents accurately for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Support routine operational tasks such as policy checks, reporting, and basic configuration under guidance.
  • Assist with user queries related to data security policies and processes.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and training sessions to build technical capability.
Qualifications
  • Experience in cybersecurity and data protection with willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint) – technical training will be provided.
  • Exposure to security concepts or recognised frameworks (e.g., basic understanding of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) or similar technologies).
