Production Manager; PUPM

Job Description

Trans Dev supplies belts, chain and motion components to industrial customers. Our Manufacturing department produces pulleys, gears and sprockets, ensuring we offer standard off‑the‑shelf parts alongside bespoke specials from drawing.

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile workshop Production Manager to lead our manufacturing team in a fast‑paced environment. In this role, you will be responsible for CNC, semi‑CNC and manual machining (lathes and mills) and gear cutting, along with a finishing department and plating operation.

• Collaborate with a Production Planner, Production Engineer, and Production Supervisor to optimise production efficiency and ensure seamless workflow across all machining processes, including day and split shifts.
• Lead recruitment for your area and serve as the first point of contact for HR‑related matters for your team.
• Oversee the CNC, semi‑CNC, manual machining, gear cutting, finishing and plating operations.
• Maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production quality and productivity.

• Proven experience in CNC and manual machining, gear cutting, and production management/supervision.
• Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering are desirable.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of CNC programming, manual machining processes, gear cutting techniques, and finishing.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
