Construction Estimator

SOV Roofing & Waterproofing Inc. is seeking a Construction Estimator to join our growing and successful team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented estimator who enjoys working on diverse construction projects and wants to grow within a collaborative and supportive environment.

• Manage the estimating process from initial bid through final proposal
• Complete accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates
• Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents
• Build, analyze, and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors
• Research and maintain current pricing for labor, materials, and equipment
• Prepare comprehensive bid submissions, including scope, pricing breakdowns, and clarifications
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, consultants, and subcontractors
• Analyze scope changes and provide updated cost estimates as required

• Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in construction estimating or a related field
• Minimum 1 year of estimating experience preferred
• Experience with local construction methods and materials
• Strong understanding of construction estimating principles and techniques
• Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Highly organized, responsible, and proactive
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Plan Swift (or similar estimating software)
• Roofing or waterproofing experience is an asset but not required
