Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Production Manager to join their team in Coega, Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving daily food manufacturing operations, optimizing production efficiency, and ensuring full compliance with industry-leading food safety standards. - Assist the Production Manager in overseeing daily food manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are met.
- Monitor production schedules, adjust workflow as needed, and optimize efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP, ISO, FSSC 22000) and other industry standards.
- Lead, train, and develop production staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Maintain and enforce health and safety protocols in the production environment.
- Collaborate with quality control, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure product quality and timely delivery.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, liaise with maintenance teams, and ensure minimal downtime.
- Maintain accurate production records, generate reports, and analyze performance metrics.
- Assist in cost control measures to optimize raw material usage and reduce overhead costs.
- Grade 12
- Diploma/Degree in Food Science, Production Management, or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an assistant management role within a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of food production processes, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and HACCP principles.
- Familiarity with factory automation systems and production planning software.
- Flexibility to work shifts and weekends.
