We have the perfect Temporary Full‑Time opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist – Educator to join our team at the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital located in Coquitlam, BC. This position is available until July 2030.

Key responsibilities include:

• Individualized pharmacotherapy
• Counselling patients about their medication therapy
• Working in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop, implement and monitor therapeutic plans
• Assisting in the development of drug therapy guidelines for individual disease conditions
• Preparing and submitting case studies and articles for publication in professional journals
• Acting as department resource person in your assigned area
• Participating in medication use evaluations, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical drug trials
• Providing mentorship and supervision to pharmacy students, residents, and new staff
• Ensuring prescriptions are validated and dispensed accurately; resolving medication safety concerns with the healthcare team; documenting professional practice activities proficiently

Required qualifications:

• Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
• Completion of an accredited Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program
• Three (3) years recent related hospital pharmacy experience, including one year of pharmacy/leadership and staff education experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Detailed Overview: The Clinical Pharmacist – Educator (CPE) supports the education, orientation, and training of pharmacist staff in the Lower Mainland Pharmacy Services. The CPE collaborates with Pharmacy Coordinators to identify learning needs, design and evaluate educational strategies, and provide clinical and educational support. The role also involves quality improvement initiatives, committee participation, and clinical pharmacy services.
