Materials Documentation Engineer – Virtual Bridges
Exciting permanent opportunity based in the Port Talbot area. The role is fully onsite, working 4 days per week Monday to Thursday (Friday is a non-working day). Car parking is available at the location.
The Materials Documentation Engineer ensures that all products and services are fit for purpose and meet external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Control the analysis and logging of all material certification, ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding incorrect, incomplete, or unclear documentation, ensuring certificates are accurate and that any amended certificates are received within a reasonable time frame.
- Compile and manage complete Customer Certification Packs, maintaining full 'cradle to grave' ownership of all materials and documentation.
- Manage and control the certification records system across both electronic and hard copy formats.
- Work closely with suppliers and internal departments to resolve issues in a timely manner and to improve processes affecting certification quality and pack construction.
- Ensure compliance with relevant national and international standards and legislation, including ISO 9001 and PED/23/EC.
- Adhere to all health, safety, fire and internal procedural requirements in the performance of duties.
- Support the development and improvement of documentation systems and process procedures, introducing enhancements where practicable.
- Attend internal meetings as required and relay concerns or improvement opportunities to the Departmental Manager.
- Documented experience in a Quality Assurance role with a good standard of numeracy skills.
- Good experience dealing with suppliers and customers, with knowledge and understanding of material certification and material specification.
- Experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
- Good analytical skills, oral and written communication.
